The challenge
Vertex, an auto-components maker with four plants across the NCR and Pune, had outgrown its systems: each plant ran its own ageing desktop ERP, procurement lived in email and Excel, and finance re-keyed plant reports into Tally every month. Month-end close routinely stretched past nine working days, and leadership had no consolidated view of work-in-progress, raw material exposure, or plant-level profitability. An off-the-shelf ERP had been evaluated twice and rejected because of licence cost and its inability to model job-work and subcontracting flows.
Our approach
- Ran a six-week discovery across all four plants, mapping every material and document flow before writing code
- Built a modular ERP on .NET 8 and PostgreSQL with a React front end designed for the shop floor: large touch targets, barcode-first workflows, and offline tolerance
- Delivered production planning, stores and inventory, procurement, quality, dispatch, and finance modules with a two-way Tally integration
- Containerised the platform with Docker on Azure, with each plant syncing to a central instance and handheld barcode scanners replacing manual registers
- Phased the rollout from a Manesar pilot to all four sites within eleven months, with train-the-trainer programs for supervisors
