The challenge
FinEdge Capital, an NBFC serving over 80,000 borrowers, ran its loan origination, servicing, and reporting stack in a single co-located data centre with hardware approaching end-of-support and disaster recovery relying on nightly tape backups. A four-hour outage during a monsoon power failure had already reached the board. As a regulated lender, RBI guidelines on IT outsourcing and data localisation plus ISO 27001 recertification meant encryption, access controls, audit trails, and data residency had to be provably in place from day one.
Our approach
- Ran a full application and dependency audit, classifying workloads into rehost, replatform, and refactor tracks
- Replatformed core loan systems onto AWS Mumbai: ECS on Fargate behind an Application Load Balancer, and the Oracle-based servicing database migrated to SQL Server on RDS with Multi-AZ failover
- Established a warm-standby DR environment in the Hyderabad region with automated failover runbooks
- Engineered security in: KMS encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, zero trust segmentation, SSO with mandatory MFA, and CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and a centralised SIEM mapped to RBI and ISO 27001 controls
- Cut over across three weekends using a blue-green pattern with continuous replication, then handed over Terraform baselines and a FinOps dashboard
The results
We migrated the entire estate to AWS with a hardened, audit-ready security posture, without a minute of client-facing downtime.
